JSC Membership Committee chairs Audrey Halpern and Elaine Sherman have planned a get-together for prospective members. The event will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 7:30 p.m. in Solon. If you are interested, please contact Elaine (momsherm@sbcglobal.net, 440-349-1524) or Audrey (440-461-2414, audhalpern@sbcglobal.net).  Membership entitles you to attend our many holiday, social, and community service events and be a part of a friendly, caring community.

 

Regarding: Annual Dues for the Jewish Secular Community of Cleveland

 

 

Thank you for the interest and support you have shown in the Jewish Secular Community of Cleveland.  The Community was founded in 1967 to provide a warm and supportive community where we celebrate the rhythms of life and Jewish holidays in a meaningful and secular humanistic manner and meet like-minded people to have fun and discuss issues of Jewish or universal importance.

Our annual dues for 2009 – 2010 are now due.  Two of our most attended events each year are our break-the-fast meal after Yom Kippur and our Passover Seder.  In the past, some of the food has been prepared by community members (potluck).  However, to create a more consistent experience and reduce the burden on individual members, the JSC board decided that all food for these two events will be provided by the Community. 

In order to accommodate this change, dues have been increased to $165 per full member and $85 per associate member.  Note that this is the first dues increase since 2001.  Our Shabbat dinner/adult education programs will continue to be potluck, with the community providing chicken, wine, and other beverages.

Our Community depends on your support.  Please spend a moment to complete the membership form you received in the mail.  Then return the form with your check as soon as possible.  If you did not receive a membership form in the mail, please contact me or download the form here.

Remember that we have associate memberships available for individuals or families who are dues-paying members of another temple or synagogue.
