We may be looking for each other...

You're seeking to be more in touch with your Jewish heritage on a regular basis, in a comfortable, semi-structured setting with other thoughtful Jews with whom you can relate on a spiritual, intellectual and social level. You "belong" to a temple or synagogue, but you still feel disconnected…or you don’t belong to any congregation, but you are searching for a Jewish “home”.   If either of these describes you, please read on....

The Jewish Secular Community of Cleveland, founded in 1967, provides a warm, inclusive and secular, humanistic environment in which to celebrate holidays, learn about both our traditions and our history and discuss current issues throughout the year.

Our Friday night Shabbat dinners and adult education programs are a monthly get-together featuring guest speakers who cover a wide variety of thought-provoking topics.  They're fun, too, as only pot-luck dinners can be.

We connect to the Greater Cleveland community through volunteer and community action programs with the over-all goal of perpetuating humanistic Jewish traditions.

On a lighter note, our members--all one hundred of them--look forward to our social programming. Our on-the-town events make the most of Greater Cleveland's varied and stimulating cultural scene.

If you're currently affiliated with a synagogue, you'll want to know about our associate membership plan.

You're invited to be our guest at the next JSC event and judge for yourself. In the meantime, browse throughout this website. It may answer some of your questions.
